Possible prehistoric carved boulder discovered on private farmland near Hindon Edge on Langleydale Common northeast of Eggleston, County Durham. First documented by Paul Brown in 1996, this rock was partially cataloged and referenced 'Hindon Edge 1a' on the English Heritage Records Database by NADRAP. The team describes: '*This is an almost rectangular-shaped piece of rock which has two possible single cup marks on one edge. Both are quite shallow, but are well-rounded in shape, and possibly man-made* ...' The depressions appear more artificial than natural when viewed on the model. English Heritage Records Database info: https://archaeologydataservice.ac.uk/era/section/panel/overview.jsf?eraId=2008 A 3D model was created from five stereo pairs captured by Joe Gibson, Belinda Burke & Keith Elliott (NADRAP Team 3) in March 2006. The imagery is part of the complete NADRAP archive deposited with Historic England.
