Himmeli - Christmas Decoration

<p>This is a traditional christmas ornament from Finland called Himmeli. Or. My take of it in 3D-printable format I should say.</p> <p>Traditionally it is tied together from soaked wet straws and hung from the ceiling.<br/> It is believed to bring good luck and bountiful harvest to its owners.<br/> It was believed that the bigger your himmeli is, the better your luck &amp; harvest will be.</p> <p>Now, I have decided to modernize this beloved christmas ornament to bring you all good luck and successful prints!</p> <p>This is the original inspiration for it:<br/> <a href="https://i.imgur.com/742Mh7k.png">https://i.imgur.com/742Mh7k.png</a></p> <p>They come in various shapes and forms, style is quite free so I decided to make a easy to make one to brighten your christmas!</p> <p>There is one file in here and my instructions will be quite simple for it: you simply print the file in different percentage scales.</p> <hr/> <p>To make ones in sizes like I have you will have to print the following:</p> <p>375% scale ones (150x150x127.5mm)</p> <p>( 2 pieces )</p> <p>200% scale ones (80x80x68mm)</p> <p>( 8 pieces to combine into 4 )</p> <p>100% scale ones (40x40x34mm)</p> <h3>(40 pieces to combine into 20 )</h3> <p>PS:</p> <p>Feel free to use your own percentage scales to print variations and experiment if you want.<br/> My scaling suggestions have been made with all kinds of 3d printers in mind, to ensure best possible printability!<br/> Some printers can surely print smaller scale ones just fine (I specifically recommend 50% one as smallest one) but it can result in nasty overhangs and top of the pyramid failing if there isn't sufficient cooling.</p> <hr/> <p>The final pyramids will be assembled by gluing them together using superglue and then tied together with strings into the Himmeli.</p> <p>I used fishing line myself as it's transparent and holds well.<br/> As a tip consider using color-matching thread if you want! :)</p> <p>I look forward to seeing all the different kind of Himmelis you have been printing!<br/> Merry christmas &amp; happy holidays everyone!</p>
