A NextEngine 3D laser scanner was employed to scan the mandible of a Himalayan brown bear, also referred to as the white-clawed bear. This subspecies of the brown bear is the largest mammal within the Himalayas. The mandible, or lower jaw bone, is the largest, strongest, and lowest facial bone; it forms the lower jaw structure and secures the placement of the lower teeth.
