Hillside 48 Keyboard Cases

This is a remix of chewiedies's great Hillside Tray/Case on Thingiverse.

The low pro version features through-holes for attaching the Hillside keyboard PCB to the case at up to five points. Four of the holes are for M2 screws and nuts, the other is for M2.5.

The high (or maybe mid) pro version includes cavities for M2 threaded heat-set inserts instead of through holes and includes M2 through holes for tenting puck compatibility. The insert cavities are designed so that the inserts can be installed from the back of the case. I recommend, for inserts at this size, putting a long M2 screw through the hole from the front/inside of the case and screwing it a couple turns into your M2 H3 insert, then heating the insert with your soldering iron at ~320°F and pushing/pulling it into place. Use the long M2 screw to ensure that the insert is flat and square. The long screw also ensures that you don't get a buildup of melted plastic in front of your insert blocking your installation screw later!

The tented/tripod version is 5° tented when used “flat”, but includes a “built-in tenting puck”, in that it has a ¼"-20 threaded cavity modeled right in to the bottom of the case, so you can just screw it onto your favorite tripod or tripod-compatible tenting solution and go!

I have made and tested the low pro and the mid/high pro. I intend to print and test the tented/tripod version soon and will edit this description when I do.

EDIT: The Tripod/tented version is kind of meh, I'm working on a better version with a modeled-in ¼-20 and an optional top cover/case for travel!

All models are Left side, please mirror in your slicer for Right.

This model was remixed/designed in Onshape Free, so it's public! Please feel free to pop over to Onshape via the source URL and remix it further :D
