Hillbilly golf, golf ball drilling device
thingiverse
My grandson is hooked on hillbilly golf and begged me to craft a custom set for him. To build his dream setup, I needed a way to precision-drill a hole right through the center of a golf ball so I could link two together securely. I repurposed an Anycubic Kossel Linear Plus Golf Ball Foot base designed by gartnix on Thingiverse (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2767711). This clever base provided the foundation for my project. Next, I upcycled a topper with a pre-drilled hole in the center from the Golf Ball Marker - Pokeball design available on Thingiverse (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1728878). The pokeball's pupil perfectly aligned with my drill press. To bridge the base and topper, I created a custom spacer ring that would snugly fit between them. With this setup, I could easily place a golf ball in the base, followed by the spacer, and then top it off with the Pokeball topper. This allowed me to accurately drill through the center of each golf ball on my trusty drill press. With this ingenious contraption, I successfully drilled 12 golf balls, securing them together perfectly for my grandson's hillbilly golf adventures.
