Hikvision Dome Camera Base Plug
thingiverse
I was doing some work on my house where I had to take down 2 surveillance cameras. When I took them off I found wasp nests underneath both of them. Out of curiosity I checked my other dome cameras and every single one had either mud dauber or paper wasp nests on the inside. I had noticed wasps on the video feeds before, but hadn't made the connection that they were making nests inside and in the junction box for the camera. On the hikvision camera, there is a hole/slot if you need to run the wire externally for doing a surface mount. When not in use, this slot exposes the camera and the junction box. I'm honestly surprised these didn't come with a plug, but oh well. This plug solves the issue. You don't have to completely dismount the camera to install it, just loosen it on the screws enough to pivot the camera or lower it enough for the plug to slide in. This should work on any of the hikvision domes. I have used it on a 2132 and a 2143G0. If you're running the plastic indoor mount and using it outside in a covered area, this also plugs the bottom hole on that as well.
