The “HIH mirror” project produces green hydrogen using Enapter's “Electrolyser EL 2.1” modules. The idea on which the project is based is to share the production of hydrogen in plants with shared accumulators. The Enapter modules are powered by 350W photovoltaic panels, whose performance is maximized with the help of large reflecting mirrors.Solar panel Tracker MirrorBoth the mirrors and the photovoltaic panels, mounted directly to the buildings, are equipped with linear actuators for their movement. The mirrors and solar panels are NOT oriented by a solar tracker, but are coordinated by a central station which, considering the geographical position, the time of year and the solar time, orients they to reflect the solar rays according to the needs of the moment. The photovoltaic panels in this configuration will have more solar radiation than those mounted in a standard system. The temperature of the panels would therefore be higher, reducing their efficiency, risking to produce less current. To avoid this problem, a cooling coil connected to the home hydraulic thermal circuit is mounted inside them. This circuit, by cooling the panels, produces domestic hot water and heating of household environments, thus allocating more electricity for the production of Hydrogen.Reflective mirrors direct the sun's rays not exclusively on photovoltaic panels. In fact, they are also used to illuminate the interiors of apartments without light during the day. In this way, by using less electric lighting, more electricity can be used for the production of hydrogen. The reflecting mirrors, once the supplies of hydrogen are ensured, can also be used to irradiate greenhouses, garden plants or hydroponic crops. For this purpose, "Mirror Towers" have been built.Their purpose, like that of mirrors on buildings, is to reflect the sun's rays on photovoltaic panels, crops or other mirrors in order to reach the selected point.Vertical wind turbines placed on the top of the buildings also contribute to powering the Enapter modules. This solution provides electricity even at night.Hydrogen and even oxygen are stored in large cylinders similar to those used for truck transport. The storage stations are adjacent to the buildings that produce the gases.A compressor room favors the storage of hydrogen and oxygen produced by homes in the cylinders.Inside the houses, low pressure panels are mounted for the withdrawal of the Hydrogen and Oxygen previously stored in the cylinders. The reaction of the two gases through a "Fuel Cell" produces electricity for household needs. The process during the reaction produces water vapor which, once condensed and cooled, is reused in the Both Enapter modules and H2O, in case the necessary quantity is insufficient.By implementing more production systems, it could be possible to refuel vehicles with hydrogen and, much easier to make, cylinders for this use.
