Highscoresaves.com Scramble multi-game PCB spacers
thingiverse
This is a custom PCB spacer set designed specifically for Highscoresave.com's Scramble multi-game adapter kit. The package includes three 30mm spacers, a unique corner spacer, and a shim to securely hold the smaller board in place. For those unfamiliar with the design, it lacks the standard support spacer found in most two-board stacks due to one of the kit's PCBs protruding without a hole for a screw. To address this issue, I created a 30mm high spacer that wraps around the protruding PCB. Another potential problem arises from the small board installed in the socket for chip 6E, which tends to come loose due to its low number of pins and narrow profile. To counteract this, I designed a shim that, when placed on top of the board, holds it firmly in place with pressure from the board above. The screws used in the design are pieces cut from a 6-32 threaded rod, while two small screws hold the corner spacer in place. The 6E shim simply rests and cannot move as long as the top board is securely fastened with the 30mm spacers. At some point, I plan to revisit and refine the corner spacer for better adjustability.
