So the original design (source Manabun) truly shines with its incredibly useful features, yet it harbors a serious flaw that I was able to rectify effortlessly. The lack of a locking mechanism in the original design renders it vulnerable to lateral forces, causing the joycon to pop out of place and disrupting the functionality of the SR/SL buttons on top. To address this issue, I incorporated a slot for the joycon lock and a hole that allows you to depress the button on the controller to release it. The extension on the upper buttons remains unmodified, but I strongly recommend slowing down your printer when printing these buttons to avoid issues like ghosting, which can impair their functionality. Printing the controller in two halves side by side yields faster results and uses less material than a single piece design. By carefully removing excess material, I was able to reduce weight and material usage while maintaining the original design's strength. The result is a design that is just as robust as the original but with unnecessary solid pieces eliminated where possible.
