THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE! I run both 1.75 and 2.85 filaments in my printers, and I got tired of digging around to find the right size when switching filaments. I aimed for a clip that would secure any manufacturer's spool in any filament size within common deviation ranges of 1.75 and 2.85. So far, this has worked great! They don't protrude outside spool dimensions by much, so spools still stack and pack together well in dry boxes. If it isn't obvious, the clip works by delivering actual clamping pressure through outer legs that squeeze the third leg against the inside of the spool. The two longer legs have bulbs to allow adequate clamping even on certain spools with thicker outer rims and recesses for saving plastic in manufacturing. I haven't had a spool yet that this didn't work on, and you can get filament surprisingly tight when sliding the clip around the rim until there's a step that impedes sliding. The protrusion inside the spool is designed to make opening up the jaws easier while inserting filament with your thumb. Though there are some thin parts of this design, I was able to print them using a .5mm nozzle with minor post-processing. I printed sets of three times with different settings until I was happy and started printing full beds of them using those settings. It was totally worth it!
