A concept layout (ie incomplete) using parts I mostly have at my disposal.Designed to be constructed from aluminium tooling plate.My interest is in machining medium density tooling board. This design is not intended for cutting metal.Travel: X=600 Y=550 Z=22516mm ballscrews20mm linear railsNema23 motorsThe integral ballscrew support / motor mount is from another GrabCAD member.Designed to be buildable in a home or small workshop but a critical machining op would have to be sourced. The two vertical legs need machining to ensure 2 perpendicular faces on each; 1) where they touch the base plate, 2) where they contact with the bridge plate.Some work would be needed to add rigidity and I'd probably use a much smaller spindle.I'm a tooling design & manufacturing engineer with over 30 years experience.
