High-Voltage Spark Gap
thingiverse
This picture showcases an adjustable spark gap bracket for high-voltage applications, displaying a 25 kV DC arc. By increasing the gap distance, the HV DC supply can reach up to 50 kV. The instructions are straightforward - print and add your metal components. PTFE (Teflon) is advised as insulators for continuous arcing over a minute due to melting metal. McMaster stocks various PTFE shapes/sizes. Insulators aren't necessary for brief usage. Stainless steel electrodes, though not ideal tungsten ones, are long-lasting. Always exercise caution with high voltage; this setup alone isn't dangerous.
