The primary objective of these designs is outlined in "3D Printed UV-vis Cuvette Adapter for Low Cost and Versatile Spectroscopic Experiments," which appears in the open access journal ACS Omega. Access the publication at http://pubs.acs.org/doi/abs/10.1021/acsomega.7b01310. This specific component is designed to replicate traditional quartz and glass UV-vis Spectrometer cuvettes. The design features a path length of 10 mm and a sample volume of approximately 2.4 mL. This cuvette can be utilized in most standard UV-Vis spectrometers. The "Low Cost" cuvette differs from the standard cuvette solely in the label on the side. We suggest printing this design with black filament to minimize light scattering. An instructional video demonstrating assembly of the spectrometer is presented below, along with a list of materials used. Either quartz or glass windows can be employed depending on the desired spectral range of the cuvette.
