High Rate Planetary Mechanism
grabcad
This upgraded model supersedes an earlier version (featuring distinct planetary gears) that had a more intricate construction process. The new iteration, however, utilizes standard planetary gears to maintain the previous ratio of 1:3034. The design was modelled using Solidworks 2016 and rendered with Simlab Composer 6 Mechanical Edition. Frames were edited with Virtualdub and saved as AVI/X264 and BMP formats, while videos were remuxed to MP4 with MyMP4BoxGui. Gifs were created using PhotoScape. IrfanView was used to edit the rendered images. The model is available in several file formats, including 3D-PDF, ZIM, SIMLAB, DAE, STEP, IGES, Parasolid, OBJ, SketchUp, 3DS and Simlab Composer 6. Additionally, the ZIM file can be viewed on both iOS and Android devices through the free Simlab Viewer app.
