High Power Rocketry Launch Rail Adapter

Designing an Adapter for Secure Launch Rail Holding on a Bike Stand at Any Angle Utilizing a bike repair stand as a launch platform offers numerous benefits, especially when vertical alignment is achieved. However, when attempting to accommodate angled or non-vertical positions, the effectiveness of this setup can be compromised. The existing design relies heavily on V-shaped jaws that securely grip the 1010 launch rail, albeit at a 45-degree angle from the vertical plane. This peculiarity results in uneven stress distribution across the rocket's guides, potentially leading to misalignment or damage during the launch process. To address this challenge, I propose an adapter consisting of four interlocking components that can be seamlessly integrated with the existing bike stand and rail system. These components will enable the jaws to securely grasp the launch rail at any desired rotation around its axis, effectively neutralizing the strain on the rocket's guides. The proposed adapter is designed for ease of assembly, featuring six 6mm set screws that provide a secure locking mechanism. Additionally, this design takes into account the need for re-tapping the threads after printing to ensure optimal performance and reliability in various launch configurations.
