PBR Texture 4K is an advanced texturing technique that encompasses four fundamental components. Albedo, a critical part of PBR Textures, refers to the base color of the material. This helps artists define its color and visual presence. Next is the Normal Map which uses fine details on a surface's appearance by mapping subtle normal variations onto the albedo map. This greatly increases visual realism in 3D objects. Mask Map plays an essential role here. Mask maps help create additional textures and characteristics, such as Metallic (M) value in Red, Ambient Occlusion (AO) intensity in Green, Detail masks to exclude small details from lighting computations by masking out values that fall outside of a threshold for each RGB color in Blue and lastly the Smoothness (S) in Alpha. Artists can easily transform their Smoothness maps into roughness textures. However this approach is quite aggressive because it directly modifies and manipulates raw data to reflect its surface detail. Polycount and vertex count matter when producing and editing texture images at high resolution levels with an exceptionally large number of triangles used on them (polycounts), and vertices that give rise from those, specifically 27k each in the form 27080 for faces used along edge boundaries and 27256 edges being processed by computer processors or graphical processors.
