High Poly Low Detail Head
cults3d
Looking for a high poly low detail head to use as a base for a sculpting project. Found a good low poly start from http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:455885 and took it from there. First I removed all the co-planer triangles in the STL file to make it easier to manipulate the file and fixed some non-coplaner areas on the base. Next I fixed his nose and gave him a right nostril. Then I quadrupled the poly count with a smooth quad tool to create natural curves and enhance the details and smoothed the model two levels to achieve a smooth muscled surface. Very pleased with the result. Cura scaled and oriented for printing. Use a wide brim and supports everywhere. The STL file is now the updated one with the perfectly smooth base with no smoothing wrapped around one edge.
