High Hat - Somewhere to Hang Your Hat
thingiverse
I'm fascinated by hats, but living in a studio presents storage challenges. Some people employ shelves and hanging closet organizers, which take up space, or hooks that hide the beautiful designs on their hat. My wife asked if I could design something that displays hats neatly since many people spend big money on clothing, especially those into streetwear. So, I created the High Hat. Customize your High Hat by swapping out colors to match your hats! The model is 50 mm wide, making it easy to stripe with different filament colors. The window at the hinge is 20 mm wide, divided into sections of 15 mm, 20 mm, and 15 mm. For more details on print settings, see below. Attach a 3M Command Strip (small) to the back. If you're using multiple High Hats, leave at least 150 mm (~6 inches) on all sides for a roomy fit and 75 mm (~3 inches) when next to a wall. The spacer file makes it easy to arrange your High Hats. The current design fits my hat size, which is around 7 3/8". People with smaller hats will need to scale down the design temporarily while I come up with an appropriate small version of the High Hat. There's a small window at the back to check if your hat is sitting flat and also makes it easy to remove the Command Strip.
