High flow zones in Tuross Head Tonalite
sketchfab
Mafic (dioritic) magmatic enclaves are widespread throughout the Tuross Head Tonalite at Bingioe Bingie Point. In many instances, these enclaves take on nearly spherical shapes, but most exhibit elongated forms as a direct result of magma flow within the host tonalite. Certain zones display significantly more pronounced stretching of enclave shapes, which is likely due to increased rates of magma flow. Compass orientation is set to horizontal, pointing north, with a length of 12 cm.
