This is an Air Intake Screen for High Efficiency Furnaces and Hot Water Heaters that utilize 3-inch PVC Piping for the Air Intake. The end is tapered and should only need to be pressed in, but could also be sealed with some silicone caulk. Use this screen to prevent critters from making a home in your air intake. Depending on the material you use, you could also apply this screen to the exhaust. I have also posted a 2-inch version of this product.
