High Bypass Engine Nacelle
grabcad
This Nacelle draws inspiration from the Trent 900 Nacelle used on the A380, but it's been tailored specifically for the 3D Printable High-Bypass Jet Engine by CATIAV5FTW (Chris Shakal). I worked with his model, making minimal changes and substitutions. While most of the original design remains intact, some parts need to be replaced or modified to suit this project. I've included remixed versions of most of his parts, which simplify or eliminate the need for supports. A few of his parts remain in their original format but are now tagged with my numbering system for convenience. This model is a remix of Chris Shakal's (CATIV5FTW) 3D Printable High-Bypass Jet Engine design. It doesn't come equipped with "operating" reversers, more like the outer engines on the A380 that don't have reversers. Functional reversers are available for those who want them. A gearmotor is also an option. Motorized High Bypass Engine Nacelle The technical requirements to print and build this model aren't overly demanding, but it does come with a lot of pieces and some of them are quite large. Fitting, adjustment, and gluing may be required. The total cost of this project comes out to around $150 (2020 USD). Print time may exceed 300 hours, so be prepared to dedicate significant time and effort. STEP files now included This package includes: All nacelle parts Split versions of the larger parts Chevroned reverser cowls Gearmotor All remixed parts from CATIAV5FTW Print Settings The STLs are already in the correct orientation. Keep in mind that the parts are quite large, so a 300mm x 300mm x 400mm printer envelope is highly recommended. Optional split parts are provided to allow completion with a 206mm x 206mm x 185mm high build plate.
