How I Designed This: I created this design after breaking one of the mounting rings on day one when I received my HIFIMAN HE-350 from Massdrop. After hours of searching online for an aftermarket option, I couldn't find one that didn't require purchasing a new set of pads. So, I loaded up Solidworks and designed one myself. It took approximately eight test prints to achieve the correct fit. One of the challenges when designing this was striking a balance between making it thick enough to print and flexible enough for easy removal. The second hurdle was creating clips that were thin enough to fit into the 0.6mm gap on the headphone, measured using a feeler gauge, without snapping after repeated use.
