HIFI Media Player (Volumio 2)
myminifactory
This is just the front and back panel for the Small Media Player made by Tobias Scharmann I wanted to create my own media player based on his pictures, but I didn't want to pay the $90+ cost to machine the front and back panels he made out of steel (albeit loosing the nicer hi-end finish). So being that I already have a 3D printer, I decided to create the parts I needed to finish the project. I took the liberty of adding a space for a rocker switch in the back to be able to turn off the thing if I wanted to. I also ended up choosing Volumio as the OS, it's plugin system support made it easier to connect all the components needed. It has support for multiple DACs so that's also a plus. There's two versions of the back panel, one with no holes* and one with a 3.5 mm hole for standard female panel mount jack. You will need 4xM3 flat screws to be glued to the back to be able mount the LCD. The fit is pretty tight, so using some force and CA glue the screw will snap into place. I used a little vice to get everything snug while the glue dried. ## Parts- HifiBerry DAC*- Power Supply: Meanwell RS-15- LCD- Case- 4xM3 flat head screws- 8xM3 cylindrical head screws *In my case, I ended up using an USB DAC I had lying around. no holes required.
