Pneumatic lifters use air pressure to power a device called an air compressor. A manual pump must be used in locations without electrical power. They typically come equipped with either 4-foot or 12-foot strokes. They also often have built-in locking pins to secure objects into place when lowered down the surface, as opposed to screw jacks.
