The spool holder, now in its upgraded form, has been lengthened to accommodate deeper spools. These enlarged versions are printed as a single unit on edge and with supports, resulting in an impressive outcome. This Ultimaker spool holder is designed specifically for 30mm spools and larger sizes. Its predecessor, the default spool holder mounted on the back of the machine, presented various challenges, including discrepancies in spool diameters and difficulties in loading and unloading spools. The two parts of this design are secured with M2 screws. Printing the one-step part is possible, but it will require supports; I opted to print them separately. This spool holder takes its position under the machine's back legs, clamping between the table and the base around the support legs. It is situated behind the machine, with the lower piece positioned below both the machine and the table. The design allows for flipping, enabling users to place one spool holder on each side of the machine. The lower part can be printed in varying diameters to accommodate larger spools; however, a smaller diameter works well for all sizes.
