Hidden Blade
sketchfab
A model I created for the /r/Blender February contest, theme is "Espionage". Based on Assassin's Creed, this scene showcases a few new techniques I've been eager to try out. Primarily, with the upcoming release of Blender 2.77 which will have GPU accelerated subsurface scattering, I updated my PBR material node to include SSS. I rendered this scene using the test build of 2.77 in order to take advantage of this new feature. Still took 2 1/2 hours to render at maximum quality. Secondly, I haven't done much sculpting in Blender for a long time. As I'm getting into Substance Painter, I realized that you can bake the normals down from a hi-poly mesh onto your low-poly, so I wanted to get familiar again with sculpting and its many possibilities. The model was created using Blender, textured using Substance Painter and rendered from within Blender.
