Here's a simple alternative z-stop that makes precision adjustments extremely easy. I wrestled with the original system my printer came with, what an annoying headache! Two parts in my design attach to existing screw mounting holes, nothing super fancy but very functional and I like printing it in black so it blends in and looks like it came from the manufacturer originally. You'll need two 40mm M3 screws (I bought at ACE Hardware) for the top bracket and two 15mm or 20mm M3 screws for the bottom bracket, plus a total of ten nylon washers. Now, making any adjustments just takes a simple turn on the vertical M3 screw with a driver - the stop never moves, only the screw does. I saw this generic concept on other pages for printers and thought to design my own unique system. Note: My print bed is unusual, if you're using the standard print bed that came with your printer, you'll probably need to edit the STL file for the bottom bracket that the endstop switch mounts to, making it around 1/2" - 1" shorter.
