I modified the HICTOP Prusa i3 Y-Axis belt holder to enhance its performance and improve the following key features: Thicker jaws hold the belt securely, minimizing the risk of slippage during prolonged printing periods at high temperatures with heated bed settings. By increasing thickness, I expanded the tolerance. To allow both belts to be placed side by side in the groove more easily, I increased the distance between the jaws so that they align properly; the original design was too tight and often led to belt offset, making it impossible for the second belt to fit. This causes Y-axis skipping due to sharp edges on curved corners or worn-out holders during fast printing with ABS plastic. The HICTOP Prusa i3's ability to handle curves during fast printing of ABS is noteworthy. It's susceptible to curling and tooth skipping when sharp corners and worn-out belt holders are present, but I observed a decrease in these issues after modifying the design to have curved sides. With curved edges, sudden acceleration can lead to Y-axis skips caused by gears due to wear from frequent use; printing with curved corner corners is more accessible and straightforward when using the modified Y-axis belt-holder. In my modifications, everything fits snugly together as intended - including end-stops for the y-axis. Printing in ABS plastic has been successful at 0.1mm, 0.2mm resolutions with 60% fill, making these tests very accurate and productive in my assessment. Here's an overview of improvements incorporated into Version 2: To increase compatibility, I enlarged the slot for better belt alignment; increased tolerance is anticipated to minimize future sanding of teeth needed for smooth operation of this mechanism - adding ease when handling ABS filaments due its thermal performance demands during printing. For hassle-free integration, holes were also introduced to hold nuts securely using pliers making it simple to mount the upgraded assembly without tedious operations
