Hictop Prusa I3 Spool Holder

UPDATE-1/31/2016 The two lateral supports were severely damaged, likely due to the weight of two heavy rolls of filament. To rectify this issue, I reprinted the model with the same settings at 100% infill. Although it took some extra time to complete the print job, the result can now support heavier rolls. The spool holder that comes with the Hictop Prusa I3 is not attached to the printer by default. In my opinion, feeding the filament vertically produces better results. To achieve this, I designed a custom spool holder that allows for vertical filament feed. The design also includes adjustable thread sizes for the horizontal rod and spool cylinders. Print Settings: Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: Prusa I3 Rafts: No rafts were used in this print job. Supports: Supports were not required due to the redesigned lateral supports. Infill: 0.35mm layer height was chosen for optimal results. Notes: For the rod, you may need to add a raft or increase the infill percentage due to low adhesion on small printing areas. Additionally, using 5% infill for other parts produces excellent results.
