HICTOP Prusa i3 - lead screw guide (wobbling mitigation)
thingiverse
The HICTOP prusa i3 lead screws bundled in the kit boast acrylic plates atop, supposedly holding the smooth rods and lead screws firmly in place. However, these acrylic plates suffer slow degradation over time, ultimately causing an unpleasant amount of noise due to grinding. A novel solution emerges – by incorporating a ball bearing support, you can securely hold the lead screw in position without any issues. Unfortunately, I was unable to procure the accurate dimensions for the acrylic components (the manufacturer chose not to provide this information). But this makeshift setup functions quite well. If someone manages to acquire the exact dimensions of these parts, it would be beneficial to share them. Print Settings Rafts: It does not significantly impact performance. Supports: Essential feature. Resolution: Opt for settings ranging from 0.1-0.2. Infill: Ensure at least a minimum of 70%. Notes: Printing this object with rigid material, such as high infill PLA or Carbon fiber PLA, is recommended. When printing, align the thicker side of the model at the base so that the bearing cavity remains free from supports.
