I'm planning to upgrade my HIC Technologies HICTOP Prusa i3 setup by replacing the direct feeding extruder motor with a connection for a PTFE line fed from a Bowden extruder. The original hotend setup remains intact, but I'm switching gears with this upgrade. My second HIC HICTOP Prusa i3 kit has arrived and it's an aluminum chassis version. My plans include turning it into a dual extruder in the near future and E3Dv6 hot ends are already on order and shipping out. For now, I've set up one of my Bowden extruders and think I can make use of it while waiting for those hotends to arrive. I recommend giving whatever material you like to see where it's at. Long-term use enhancement For extended periods, inserting some kind of heat-resistant fabric or cotton between aluminum block and the printed part may serve well to shield from overheating and damage in my opinion.
