Hictop Frame Reinforcement - Stabilize frame and reduces wobble and vibrations
thingiverse
Here's My Full Design and Assembly of Z-Axis Stabiliser. IMPORTANT INFO IT REDUCES PRINTING HEIGHT BY 1 CM My Hictop 3DP-18 acrylic frame is really wobbly and vibrates a lot, causing huge echoes and ghosting on my prints (especially on corners or around circles, which looks terrible). I've decided to redesign Z-Axis top brackets (one that holds leadscrew and rod) and attach a mount for an M8 bar that connects to the front bracket of Y-Axis. Effects seem promising; I'm currently printing right side brackets and all lines are straight (before corners were rounded and misplaced). Bill of materials: - 2 x 1000mm M8 threaded rods or 2 x 400mm M8 threaded rods and 2 x 600mm M8 threaded rods - 16 x M8 standard nuts - 6 x M8 Nyloc nuts - 4 x at least 25mm M5 bolts, 4 x nuts, 4 x washers - 4 x M4 bolts, nuts and washers - if using anchored bottom rod holder Top brackets that are holding rods also stop Z-Axis rod from being pushed up. I'm still working on it so there might be little changes in the future. I can already see that I might need to add one more hole in Z-Axis brackets and top rod holders to make sure it doesn't bend that much. If you like my design, please let me know in comments; I'd love to hear what people think about it!
