I ordered an E3D V6 extruder and then decided to build a custom X carriage for it. I based my design on the measurements provided by E3D's website for the V6 hot end, ensuring that the tip of the hot end would be in exactly the same location as the stock Hictop hot end. This saved me from making changes to home. This bracket features a modified section for using the Hictop auto bed leveling sensor they sell, and a mount for the stock extruder fan. For those who asked, I'm using Thing 1750976 for the fan cover and Thing 510957 for the fan duct. On March 19, 2017, I added an extra millimeter to the thickness of the base for better strength and removed unnecessary counter sinks. On July 19, 2017, I separated all the parts as requested by a user who said Repetier didn't properly separate them. A new MK3 version has been created, using a LJ12A3 sensor instead of the Hictop sensor. You can find it here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2573122 Print Settings: Printer: Hictop Prusa i3 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.12 Infill: 75% Notes: Using S3D Print, I printed the bottom 5mm at 100% infill and the rest at 75% for a strong base.
