The Hero is a D3 IDEX printer with two nozzle heads. Beyond two-color/two-material printing, it can print models on the left half of the bed in either duplicate or mirror mode using the right-hand extruder simultaneously. Essentially, its performance rivals that of two smaller printers combined. I grew weary of visualizing where the dividing line was when arranging objects within my slicer software. Therefore, I created a 2mm x 0.2mm frame with a clearly defined dividing line. Simply insert this splitter into your slicer and lay out your models as you normally would. Then, delete the splitter to complete the process. This splitter can also serve as a level test for your print bed glass since it evaluates both the 300x300 perimeter and a line running down the middle. On April 12th, 2020, I added a D3-specific splitter that includes the void area in the center. This is crucial when using mirror mode to avoid collisions between the two extruders.
