HICTOP Calibration Upgrade Version 1

This includes a PDF explaining how to use HICTOP Heat Bed Calibration upgrade, so please review it carefully. First, print out and install the parts as instructed in HictopCalibrationUpgrade.pdf. A helpful video that explains calibration can be found at https://youtu.be/tbJR79cXqGM. To calibrate your bed, run ABS_Calibration – Final.gcode before printing, making sure the nozzle is wiped clean of any filament material when it moves to the front left and starts heating. Once the bed reaches 85 degrees and the nozzle hits 240 degrees, press the button to start calibration in the front left corner of the bed. When the calibration stops, use a regular piece of paper to adjust the screw where the paper slides with some tension between the nozzle and heat bed using a #2 Philips screwdriver. Be cautious not to let the metal from the screwdriver sink too much heat, so remove it between adjustments for accuracy. You should be able to slide the paper under the nozzle without much resistance. Press the button to move on to the next corner, and the calibration will cycle through each corner four times. If you don't need to adjust anything on your third cycle, just press the button until the calibration routine ends. If you still need to make adjustments after four cycles, simply run ABS_Calibration – Final.gcode again. Your goal is to go through all four corners without needing any adjustments at all. By using this upgrade and adding Auto Calibration in the HICTOP with Code G29 in Cura's Startup as recommended by Hictop, you should achieve the best print possible. After calibration, your nozzle and heat bed will stay at calibration temperatures, helping to ensure the best leveling before your next print. It is crucial to calibrate at the same temperatures you plan to use for printing. If you want to run at different temperatures, simply open ABS_Calibration – Final.gcode in Apache OpenOffice (https://www.openoffice.org/) and edit the settings. The key lines to modify are: ;HEATUP BED AND NOZZLE M104 S240.000000 ;Nozzle Set to 240Deg Don't Wait M190 S85.000000 ;HeatBed Set to 85Deg Wait for temp. M109 S240.000000 ;Nozzle Wait for temp. M0 ;Wait for user to wipe nozzle and start Calibration The numbers after the S (240 and 85) are what you need to change when editing these settings. Make sure to save your changes in OpenOffice without altering the formatting. Included with this upgrade is a calibration guide specifically designed for PLA, where the bed temperature is set to 70 degrees and the nozzle temperature is set to 180 degrees. I will be updating this guide once I receive the new parts from HICTOP and plan to create a video tutorial as well.
