Hictop Bowden Upgrade
thingiverse
I really wanted to upgrade my Hictop i3 to a bowden extruder setup, but the only ones available were for different machines or parts than I had lying around. This remix is actually created from scratch in Solidworks, but it was inspired by Vidhoss' original work. It works pretty well actually, considering my motor was taped down and the hot-end part was printed with PLA. I highly recommend printing all parts with ABS (or more suited) to ensure they don't warp from heat. Printer: HICTOP i3 Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Doesn't Matter Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 25 Notes: I advise printing the hot-end connector in ABS or some other high-temperature plastic, though I have printed my own in PLA; I will update with how long it lasts when it eventually fails! Custom Section: Upgrading from Stock i3 This has been designed to use the original spring lever and fittings, so all you will need are the 5mm push-fit connectors and some teflon tube to connect them.
