Hictop Acrylic Frame Spool Mount Arm

Hictop Acrylic Frame Spool Mount Arm

I used the stock spool holders with my Hictop 3DP-18 but they were a little lacking since some filament spools are larger. I am also getting ready to convert to a boden style extruder and these should help with better positioning the filament as it enters the extruder. I printed at 100% PETG, but that is probably overkill. Took 13 hrs to print. I will prob print again and this time I will do it at 50% (still PETG though). The tricky part about these mounts is making the opening for the M3 nut just right. The nuts are consistently 3.40mm from flat to flat. I currently set the opening in these spool arms to 3.55mm. One of the big issues for these frames is those darn nuts spinning in place when you try to loosen/tighten. I originally printed at PrusaSlicer's default speed, but I might consider reducing that to see if I can get a bit better resolution. As you can see, the holders still worked, but only just barely, one of the nuts is just on the verge of spinning (hence why I tightened up the nut holder tolerance). I'm not sure about other Hictop printers, but I know there are other acrylic framed Hictop printers, see the picture with dimensions to see if the mounting tabs will fit in yours.
