With the original design in mind, I encountered an issue where my 18mm diameter probe with a 12mm range was too close to the bed, so I had to employ an offset in the software/gcode to get it functioning correctly. This hack enables the probe to be mounted at a higher position, allowing for the endstop to be physically relocated to its correct "0" point without relying on offsets. It doesn't offer comprehensive support for a fan duct – I described this as a hack, after all – although I've been printing ABS exclusively and haven't found it necessary.
