Hic Hic X-Carriage mount for E3D clone
thingiverse
This replaces the standard metal X-carriage on the Hic Hic acrylic printers with a much lighter & more compact design, paired with a bowden extruder.\nLike original designer Tech2c noted - this results in a dramatic improvement in print quality by reducing x-carriage weight and maintaining a uniform flow rate.\nThe clamp is designed as a perfect fit for Chinese E3D clones, while also accommodating a standard 40mm cooling fan blowing over the hotend cooling fins, a 50mm turbine fan zip-tied to the side for print cooling, and space for an inductive sensor with minimal offset for excellent bed auto levelling.\nThe design raises the nozzle higher on the X-axis too - so the z home position is 25mm lower than the standard design, increasing the maximum build height from 180mm to 205mm.\nInterestingly, I printed this part in PLA despite normally avoiding it near the hot end, and I experienced no issues with warping or deforming, and surprisingly the material doesn't get warm at all!\nPrint Settings\nPrinter:\n Hic Hic\n \n Rafts: Doesn't Matter\n \n Supports: No\n \n Resolution: 0.2mm\n \n Infill: 100%
