Hibernation/Stasis Capsule from a jar
thingiverse
The idea is to turn any jar into an SF-style "hibernation capsule". Design includes top and bottom jar caps. The caps are easy to scale in the slicer to fit any jar. Scaling process: By default, the caps have an internal diameter of 100mm and a depth of 20mm. Scale = jar diameter (in mm) x1% (Example: if you have a jar with a diameter of 67mm set the scale to 67%, if you have a jar with a diameter of 14cm (140mm) set the scale to 140%) If you want to extend the caps in the Z axis to, for example, cover the lid of the jar, scale the caps ONLY along the Z axis according to the formula Scale = desired cover height (in mm) /2x10% (if you want the cap to cover a 30mm jar, set the scale of the Z axis to 150% (30/2x10%=150%)) It is recommended to scale the top and bottom in the same way. Update1: New top cap (V2) with space for "keyboard" and "digital display". Update2: First printed version with photos (XY scale: 67%, Z scale: 130%) Update3: New top cap version (V1.1 and V2.1) fixing the lack of symmetry of the "claws" Update4: Another top cap fix (V1.2 and V2.2). (There was a scaling error last time)
