Hi-Point Safety cover
thingiverse
Hi-Point safeties are notoriously tricky to operate. To address this issue, I designed a thumb catch that slides onto the safety lever, providing a more substantial grip for your thumb than the thin metal tab. This custom part is a pressure fit design, so I didn't build in any tolerance. Instead, I scaled up the width to 103% to ensure it fit without breaking. You may need to adjust the scaling on the width to achieve the best fit. To minimize material usage and printing time, I opted for three walls instead of high infill density. The result is a nearly solid print. When printing this part, I positioned the thin wall against the build plate and the ridge facing up to optimize its fit. Due to the small size of the area, supports are unlikely to be necessary. **Modifying firearms requires specialized expertise; gunsmiths should perform such modifications. Altering safety mechanisms can damage or render a firearm unsafe. Please check local laws before installing this part, as I am not a licensed gunsmith and provide no guarantee regarding its installation or use.
