The Gen-16 Acoustic-Electric Cymbal System's Direct Source pickup mounts directly to a bottom hi-hat cymbal and resides inside them. This setup requires enlarging the standard 1/2" center hole in the bottom hat to 15/16" for the supplied mounting adapter, which sits under the hi-hats without modifying the bottom cymbal. The mounting adapter also enables adding a second DS pickup for the bottom hat, allowing for separate mic'ing of top and bottom hats and independent tone shaping on two DCP channels.
