Molecular data from Protein Data Bank (pdb.org) was used to create 3D models of BCR-ABL kinase and its ligands ATP, Gleevec, and Dasatinib. These models were optimized using Maxon's Cinema 4D software by the BioInteractive.org team in collaboration with MakerBot. The models can be printed and used alongside animations and PDF resources for an interactive learning experience in classrooms. For optimal demonstration of ligand fit, magnets can be added to cross-sectioned protein models. When printing full protein models, it's recommended to scale down the ligands to about 80%. These models were printed using a MakerBot Replicator 2 with standard resolution and 10% infill.
