HHGTTG Marvin the Paranoid Android
thingiverse
This is a Marvin action figure from the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy 1981 TV series from the BBC. It's articulated at the neck, elbows, and hips and stands about 7" tall as it's designed. The original model was done by Binkley-Spacetrucker and posted on Sketchfab. https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/marvin-the-paranoid-android-articulated-color-2c5381728d8241828146a357cd3d8f98 I modified the design slightly for 3D printing and added the physical joints. The articulation is a bit limited but largely mimics the original costume. You can see on the show that the character's knees barely bend when walking and, despite the appearance of shoulder joints, he effectively only ever moves his arms at the elbows. (The actor's real shoulders actually are at Marvin's biceps so his range of motion was severely limited.) The arms and torso require supports, and I found using a raft very helpful. The legs don't require supports on my printer but a couple of the overhangs are about at the limits there, so you might find supports useful or possibly even necessary depending on your printer. The head shouldn't need any supports at all. "Your plastic pal that's fun to be with!"
