HF3D Modulus: 3D Printed Plane
cults3d
Greetings, the objective of this project is to have a versatile platform that enables easy swapping out of different designs for testing and reproducing purposes. Modular components: Motor Mount Wing Mount Wings Landing Gear Planned modular components: Tail Surfaces Miscellaneous Attachments I am working on reducing the weight of some parts while strengthening others to enhance overall performance. I have successfully flown the plane twice, with the first flight conducted manually and the second in FBWA and ACRO mode. Unfortunately, the second flight ended with the motor vibrating loose the nuts from the screws holding it to the motor mount, resulting in the motor mount being torn apart. I have since reinforced the motor mount, and I will make sure to securely fasten the nuts in place moving forward. Current specifications: Span: 128cm Mean Aerodynamic Chord (MAC): 12.125cm Root chord: 14cm Tip chord: 10cm Dihedral angle: 2° Wing incidence angle: 0.6° Wing area: 1552cm² Aspect ratio: 10.5 Airfoil: GOE430 Battery: Tattu 1300mAh 3S Motor: Emax GT2218 1000kv Propeller: APC 10x6F Mass: 1117g Wing loading: 7.19 kg/m² Fuselage length: 92cm Tail length: 57cm Flight control system: Omnibus F4 Pro V3 running Arduplane Additional hardware components: * Four carbon fiber spars (64cm x 5mm) for the wings, sourced from alofthobbies * M3 bolts and nuts in various sizes, available on Amazon * Low-temperature RC plane covering (translucent and white ultracote); consider using solarfilm or a similar alternative
