I got restless last week and created this scale armor. I printed it on my Creality CR10 using PLA, then Carbon Fiber PLA, and finally wood PLA - carbon fiber ran out halfway through so the rest is wood.\r\n\r\nThe design lets all the links print together in one piece. The mail comes fully assembled; just pull the entire sheet off the build plate. As for durability... you'll have to test it yourself. Printing it with carbon fiber nylon would likely make it very strong, but in PLA, it's relatively fragile.\r\n\r\nFeel free to scale it up or down to whatever dimensions work best - within reason, of course.\r\n\r\nThis is my first design, so I'd appreciate any feedback you can give me. It'll probably take a while to get back to modifying this; college apps are coming up fast and will keep me busy for the next couple weeks.\r\n\r\nI don't see how one could turn this into a commercial product, but that's not what it's meant for - hobbyists and educators can use it as they see fit.
