Hexapod Mech
thingiverse
I came across an image of a hexapod somewhere in my past, saved it to my computer, and years later stumbled upon it while sorting through old files. With no idea where it originated from, I decided to attempt creating my own version. Thanks go out to the unknown creator! The mech prints in one of two ways. If you print the top, base, and six legs separately, you'll have to assemble them, but the legs will move freely back and forth, allowing you to adjust their position (more on that below). The movement should be noticeable if you pay close attention to the pictures. Alternatively, you could print the assembly with fixed legs if you don't care about all that. My apologies for my limited painting skills; I'm trying to improve. The painted version is scaled up 165% from the original file to maximize my print plate and make finishing easier. You can see the difference in the picture with the blue mini mech. I intentionally placed a 9V battery in the picture purely for size reference.
