Hexalenses - Large panel RGB pixel lights
thingiverse
I had a blast experimenting with my large hexalenses that I built earlier, so I thought why not try something even bigger. Each of these panels consists of 19 interconnected hexagons, measuring 80 millimeters each. These panels can connect to the smaller hexalenses using zip ties or be linked together with a connection plate similar to the one attached. I utilized these panels for an installation at Flipside 2018, but unfortunately, my setup didn't go as smoothly as I had hoped. However, they are already being used in a couple of other projects, so maybe they can be useful for you too. Here's a video showcasing the three panels I made for Flipside all functioning together on the ground: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Ae5QRV97kQ I insert the small WS2811 push-through pixels into these hexagons, which measure 12 millimeters in diameter. These versatile pixels are widely available on Amazon and Aliexpress.
