Hexagons Musical Pyramid
thingiverse
I created this one from scratch, inspired by [Satisfying Hexagons, by the lazy engineer](https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/art/satisfying-hexagons) and its derivatives, including [Hexagon Magnet Toy, by aaronjasso](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4542080). I didn't like the magnet approach, and a holding knob was the first thing I changed, and then it really bothered me that because all the hexagons are separated, this easily falls apart. So I recreated this by slicing a hexagonal pyramid. Once I got slanted hexagons, I wanted to be able to pull them up without them falling apart. It took a few iterations to get the exact ration between thickness and overlaps, but this worked out nicely eventually (and it can still fall apart if you insist). As a surprising bonus, this actually plays a nice musical effect when you move it up/down (at least when printed with Silk PLA) No support needed, use 20% infill or more on the knob. I printed with 0.2 / adaptive height (cura).
