Hexagonally Close Packed Crystal Structure

Hexagonally Close Packed Crystal Structure

thingiverse

This is an example of a hexagonal close packed unit cell featuring full atoms. Its intended use lies in educating chemistry or materials science students, giving them insight into crystal structure three-dimensionality. Instructions I printed this model with 2 shells and a 10% infill rate using a raft base. The design incorporates support structures located at local minima that need to be removed after printing; I used wire cutters for the removal process.
